Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”I love this question, because it’s so multifaceted: the written word, and the spoken word. You would think a word would mean the same thing written or when said aloud, but that’s the beauty of writing. Each reader comes to a book with his or her own personal experiences, norms, and beliefs. A word has the meaning a reader or listener assigns it—for good or for bad, and that’s an awesome power. I think it’s much easier to grasp the meaning of a spoken word since the speaker chooses how it comes across, for the most part. He or she is able to affect the tone of their voice, their body language, and facial expression.
