Q&A With Writer Darryl Shelly on W³ Sidecar

9780615746524-Perfect_4.inddExcerpt:"1. What’s your writing process or routine like?My routine is highly regimented. When I commit to writing I put my social life on hold, become a shut-in, and write every single day. This is my attempt to maintain an uninterrupted connection to the world I’m writing about. I can write well for about five hours before my focus shuts down, so I’ll stop and lay low, avoiding worldly distractions while my battery recharges. When I was younger, writing was such a stumbling, uncertain process that it was emotionally painful and something I raced to finish in order to alleviate the discomfort. Now I like to stay in this ephemeral playground because I’ve learned to only write about places and people that fascinate and entertain me."For the full Q&A, click here: w3sidecar.tumblr.com
