The year of escape: publishing trends in 2019...

According to Forbes, there are 3 distinct publishing trends in 2019. To start with, escapist fiction is on the rise with fantasy, science fiction and romance leading the charge. Yes, because real life sucks. YA fiction continues to grow like all teens, and memoir and non-fiction are making a comeback. Sweet.

What is book marketing anyway...?

There's lots of talk about the importance of book marketing, but what does it really entail? Leila Siddiqui, Associate Marketing Manager at Penguin Random House, puts it simply in an interview with Bustle: "My job is to find an audience for the particular book I’m working on, and I do that in a myriad of ways." How indie authors get their books into stores...

For most authors, the knowledge that their book is available at bookstores is a big achievement, but unfortunately precious shelf space remains largely reserved for big publishers.
